Pudge Traded For Farnsworth? Are You F-ing Kidding Me?

I just can’t believe this trade.  I’m so pissed right now.  Pudge was having an awesome year, batting .295 and catching a great game as usual. He’s a hall-of-famer still  in the back-end of his prime. And to trade him for Kyle Farnsworth? Dombroski said that Inge is the new #1 everyday catcher and will be next year. Why? An absolutely horrible, stupid move that seriously pisses me off.

  1. I was wondering when you’d get around to this. Inge is only OK as a backup at pretty much any position (I’m sorry, you can’t hit .230 and be a starter in the MLB, at least not on a contending team). Pudge is a HOF catcher, and the second halves of his season are always better than the first.

I guess I understand trading him, as he’s getting older and we finally just started paying his whole contract (even last year he was still getting some cash from Texas if I recall correctly), and he wasn’t likely to re-sign, so it was either trade him now or kiss him goodbye. Still, fucking Farnsworth? For a couple of months? Couldn’t they find any starting pitching prospects or a minor-league catcher or something? It was a shit-poor move, man. DUMBrowski.

This year has just been a total choke-fest for Dombro, what with Jones and Renteria sucking and Willis being a complete bust. At least he’s made good moves in the past. And I’d bet that there was some disagreement in the front office over whether they should have conceded the season (the answer is Yes).

Here’s the thing though, by trading Pudge, they lose out on potential high draft pick compensations next year should he have bolted.

And look what happened after they dealt him – total loss of moral by the team, and they’ve dropped 5 straight. He was one of the leaders in the clubhouse and one of the faces of the franchises – and now he’s long gone.

And f’ing Farnsworth? He’s allowed homers in his last two appearances, blowing two late inning leads in the process.

Tigers have been hitting but their pitching has been awful. Rodney as the new closer has blown like 5 out 6 save opps. Then Leyland put in Zumaya as the new closer for last night’s pretty much MUST WIN against the White Sox, he gets a two run lead in the bottom of the 14th and he allows 4 runs and blows the game. Second time in a row or the past few games that the Tigers have hit a home run in the top of the last inning on the road and then have blown the save.

Pissed off right now!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BOOOOOOOOOO Tigers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
